Uses

Oxygen is used by nearly every function within our bodies. Without oxygen, cells begin to die and the body begins to deteriorate. In a perfectly healthy individual, the red blood cells carry oxygen throughout the body, and remove carbon dioxide and other waste from tissues. Today, the air we breathe consists on average of 21% oxygen. When a person’s health begins to decline, the body’s oxygen delivery system can be compromised, resulting in the rapid or gradual deterioration of vital tissues. When an injury occurs, proper blood and oxygen flow may be cut off, causing the affected area to either progressively decline or experience minimized recovery. In times of physical crisis we need as much oxygen as we can get.
